Recruits delay enrollment
Four 1992 University football letter-of-Intent signers* will
not enroll this fall, according to a statement by the Universi
ty
Linebacker Victor Myles of Los Angeles Southwest College
will complete academic work at that school this fall. In addi
tion. freshmen Percy Ford (Ft. Walnwright. Alaska). Matt
Siepin (Salem MacKay) and Pulou Tata (Honolulu, Hawaii)
will delay enrollment to concentrate on improving their aca
demic standing.
Mtn’s hoop opener sot
The Duck men's basketball team will open its season Nov.
26 against host Alaska-Anchorage during the first round of
the Great Alaska Shootout.
The Ducks and Alaska-Anchorage join Tennessec-Chalta
nooga and New Mexico Stale In one bracket while Vander
bilt, Alabama Birmingham. Dayton and Illinois comprise the
other.
Vanderbilt and Alabama Birmingham open the tournament
Wednesday. Nov. 25 followod by Dayton against Illinois.
Tennessee-Chaiianoofpi plays New Mexico State Thursday in
the other first-round contest.
The Ducks will either play Tennessee-Chattanooga or Now
Mexico State Friday. Semifinal games at 6:30 and 9 p.m. Fri
day and the championship game at 9 p.m. Saturday will be
broadcast live by ESPN.
The Ducks will host two exhibition gamos at McArthur
Court prior to departing for Alaska. The loam will host the
