ROOF
Continued from Page 5
your-round, Heeht said.
Hu s.iiii the timing on the Co
lumbia roof project has boon
difficult because funding was
not confirmed until July 1. yet
it must be completed before the
rain starts
Heeht said inspection of the
roof two years ugo indicated
that it had three or four good
years left, but that another in
spection this past summer
showed the roof might not
make it through the winter
The roof construction is al
most half completed, arid is ex
pel ted to lie finished within 10
days, around the time that inte
rior repairs and changes will be
finished.
The classroom is one of
about .'10 that have been reno
vated, and now has new paint,
screens, bulletin boards, podi
ums and asbestos-free flooring
New chairs are expected to be
installed this weekend.
In addition, Heeht said about
75 percent of the building roofs
on campus have been repaired
recently.
"At this stage ol till' game we
have a lot of our roof problems
cured," he said. "Things were
in pretty bad shape a few years
ago."
