COMMUNITY Proposed golf course in trouble By Hope Nealson Emerald Reporter A proposal lo build an 1H lx>1*; golf course on 150-acres of Alton Ilaker I’ark is losing the support of Lane County Com missioners because of unox peeled opposition from local community groups. According to Lane County Commissioner Jerry Rust, the County had boon working on the proposal to build a golf course in the eastern section of the perk since last spring and through tin; summer. County Commissioners approved a fi nal proposal, or bid. for devel opers to design the golf course last June. Rust said the County was poised to release the hid to de velopers when opposition to the golf course seemed to grow overnight The County received more than 4,000 signatures re ecting lho proposal from a community group called Alton Baker For All Of Us.
