The unique and entertaining sounds of
Amber Tide will fill the air at Main Stage

The acoustic duo composed of Thaddeus
and Sandahbeth Spae plays folk jazz, blues
and original pieces They offer a joyous blend
of rock and roil energy, down home humor and
coffeehouse intimacy
By combining vocals with multi instrumental
talents Amber Tide evokes images of travelers
in search of lost cities, of sultry ballads by
firelight and jumping jive on a sunny afternoon
Sandahbeth Spae plays guitar flute, harmon
ica, psaltry and percussion, but her primary in
slrument is her four octave voice She was born
in Virginia and began performing when she was
13 She has opened for Jerry Lee Lewis
Thaddeus Spae sings and plays guitar, from
bone mandolin and harmonica Raised in Cali
forma he has performed on Broadway, record
ed for the British Broadcasting Corporation and
worked with the Flying Karamazov Brothers
The Spaes were married in 1977 and current
ly live in the forests southeast of Eugene
