UNIVERSITY IFC reconsiders budgets; greeks select new officers At its Thursday meeting, the Incidental Fee Committee vot ed to reconsider a budget re quest from Students for the Eth ical Treatment of Animals. SETA had been granted $H02 for 1991-92 at its Nov. 30 budg et hearing, but suggestions from the EMU program consul tant's office were not taken into consideration at the time the budget was approved, IFC Chairman Mike Colson said For instance, the EMU will be getting a new telephone sys tem next year, which will affect budget allocations for phone costs, he said. SETA's budget will be heard again in February. The IFC also voted to allow MEChA. the Latino and Chica no student union, to submit its budget although the group missed the 5 p.m. deadline Thursday. According to IFC Resolution 12. passed earlier this year, any group that misses its budget deadline without making prior arrangements with the IFC will not have its budget heard and will not be funded through in cidental fees. IFC members Freddy Vilches. JoSonja Watson. Armando Mo rales and Kari Anderson voted to suspend the rules for MEChA, granting the motion the two-thirds vote needed to carry. Barclay Grayson and Colson voted against the motion to sus pend.
