The Ducks' loss overshad owed a dramatic comeback for the team playing its second ex hibition game of the season Down 71-64 with only 2:30 remaining in the game, the Ducks staged a game saving rally. Freshman post Debbie Sporeich ignited the Oregon run with a pair of free throws. A free throw at the two-minute mark and senior forward Trina McCartney's Itaseline jumper at 1:06 brought Oregon to within 71-69. Numerous scoreless drives later. Portland appeared to have the game under control with its two-point lead, for ward Shelley Hand shooting free throws and only 20 sec onds on the clock. Hut Hand gave the Ducks an opportunity when she missed her first foul shot and Oregon rebounded. Vanessa Selden got a shot off but missed and Sporeich rebounded, was foul ed and sank the free throws to tie the game at 71-71 with 15 second left Turn to DUCKS.
