Comedy shows fun after midterms
Somewhere it must be written that comedy
came about to ease the stressful minds of
many a college student.
Anyone in the college marketplace knows
that a week of midterms creates a demand for
good times and laughs. Both the Black Angus
Restaurant, 2123 Franklin Blvd., and Scandals
Night Club. 2222 Centennial Blvd., found the
comedy niche
The Black Angus Restaurant can brag “We
have the longest running comedy show in Eu
gene," said Kevin Wmnett, catering manager
■'We've been hosting comedy for four years
now "
Their show, which features two comedians
chosen by a booking agent, takes the stage
from 9-11 p.m every Tuesday A happy hour
precedes the comedy from 8 9pm.
The weekly show is put on by The Black-An
gus and Magic 94, a Eugene radio station, and
there is a $5 cover charge Alan Craig, a Magic
94 disc |Ockey, emcees the show
‘ Most of the comedians we get are pretty
big names," Winnett said "They've been on
Showtime or toured on big circuits ”
Because of this, they bring in good sized
crowds every week "We have a lot of regu
lars," said Winnett "We get some people from
the college just down the street and we get a
lot of people between the ages of 27 and 35 "
"Laugh Line," the name of their comedy
