But while most adults' may choose to stay at home and give out candy or check out a local club lor some mu sic and laughs, there are still those lor whom the bell tolls each Halloween The mtormation in the fol lowing pages is mostly lor those who find, lor whatever the reason, that Oct. 31 is a holiday to celebrate each and every year For many the lun ol Hal loween is being able to dress and act like a completely dif lerent person It is a chance to don a new persona, to become the person you have always wanted to be or the person you have al ways hated It's a chance to go wild and let it all go. Finding the right costume is halt the battle Your costume should empower you, it should make you feel like a new per son (See costume store listing Page 3B). But once your dressed, what then? You need to find the right spot to show yourself off For some people it’s a party at a friends house. Bui because Halloween often falls on a weekmght the par ties are usually held on the weekends, leaving a void on Halloween night Well fear not There are many clubs and hang outs in the Eugene/Springfield area that sponsor annual Hallow een parties (See calendar. Page 9B) Music ranges from rock'n'roll to rhythm and blues Many of these night spots are also sponsoring costume contests Categories range from the best Simpson family member lookalike to simply the best costume of them all Some of the prizes are quite hefty, like a trip to Hawaii. (See contests, Page 9). Finally for those who are simply attracted to Halloween because of its association with fear and creepdom, there are some good new and re-re leased horror movies at the theaters. The classic The Rocky Horror Picture Show will be running Halloween night at the Bijou Arts Cine ma. If you've never seen it this would be a good time to catch it, because Halloween is it's final showing. (See movie list ing and review.
