Musgrave doubtful for Saturday,
leaving Okken as probable starter

Brooks to talk about the
many injuries the Ducks
must overcome if they want
to win this week against Ari
zona State. Me paused, then
replied. "Well, how much
time do you have?"
Then Brooks proceeded to
roll through a long list of
hurting players, one of
which may strike fear into
the hearts of Oregon fans -
Bill Musgrave,
The senior quarterback is
doubtful for this Saturday's
contest due to an abdominal
muscle pull and was not
cleared for practiced until
Thursday, but Brooks re
mains optimistic.
"If he is functional
enough, even with the pain,
I think he will play," Brooks
explained. "The trunk area
obviously makes it difficult
to throw the football - it's
very, very painful. Whether
it will settle down enough,
and he will be functional
enough remains to be seen.
"It's very difficult to tell."
he said. "We'll just have to
wait and see.”
Musgrave suffered the in
jury during the 38-17 loss to
Washington last weekend.
His replacement will be Jon
Okken. a junior who will be
making his first start for the
Ducks if Musgrave cannot
play.
