Volleyball team swept in Corvallis

CORVALLIS — Oregon's vol
leyball team was swept by Ore
gon State in a Civil War re
match Wednesday
The Heavers dominated the
Ducks in three games. 15-8.
15-12. and 15-6.
"Oregon State played very
well tonight." said Oregon
head coach Gerry Gregory.
"They dug the ball really well,
as they always do. We had a lot
of opportunities in the first
game, hut we didn't score We
spun our wheels and got frus
trated and dug ourselves some
holes we couldn't get out of.
"Even though it was a three
game match, and the scores
maybe weren't indicative of a
close match, it was a long
three-game match. Oregon
State was clearly the better ot
the two teams tonight
The Heavers jumped out to
an early lead in the first game,
and stayed there The Ducks at
tempted to catch up. but the
closest they got was when they
trailed 11-8 in the first game
In the second game. Oregon
State was crushing the Ducks
and had a sizable lead, but Ore
gon would not die The Beavers
led 14 4. but the Ducks stormed
back and cut the lead to two
