didn't lose anybody like we did
against Idaho." Duck defensive
coordinator Denny Schuler
said.
Going into the Husky game
healthy is something Schuler
feels is going to be a key. Line
backer Andy Conner, who
missed the Utah State game, is
expected back for the Washing
ton game.
"If we get Andy back we ll
be healthy." Schuler said. "1
think we re starting to jell at
the right time."
With the Aggies in their rear
view mirror, the Ducks can
now set their sights on Wash
ington. Oregon's loss to Arizo
na looms hig because it leaves
the Ducks with an 0-1 record in
Pacific-10 play, making the
Husky game a do-or-die situa
tion for the Ducks’ Rose Howl
hopes
"I think if we're going to be
in the Rose Howl race we have
to go to Seattle and win,"
Hrooks said "That's a tough
assignment, but it we start off
0-2 in the conference our legiti

The 17th-rankod Huskies will
be a formidable opponent for
the surging Dut ks Washing
ton. fresh off a 42 1-1 workman
like victory over Arizona State,
is 2-0 in conference play and
4-1 overall.
"They (Washington) are an
outstanding football team."
Brooks said. "They don’t have
weaknesses."
Schuler, who spent a great
deal of time during the off-sea
son preparing game plans for
Arizona. BYl) and Washington,
feels that Washington and its
multi-dimensional offense will
be a tougher test than either Ar
izona or BYU.
"They are going to test us in
a lot of areas," Schuler said.
"They do a very nice job run
ning the football and they have
a quarterback that will present
a lot of problems for us.”
The Husky attack features
running back Greg Lewis, quar
terback Mark Brunell and a
mammoth offensive line, not to
mention a defense that leads
the nation in stopping the run.
"Their defense is playing as
well as anybody on the coast,"
Schuler said.
Last year's 20-14 Husky win
left a sour taste in the mouths
oi some of the Ducks players
The Ducks turned the ball over
seven times in Seattle last year
and blew several chances late
in the game to pull out the vic
tory.
