    COME USE THE CRAFT CENTER
GENERAL INFORMATION
The EMU Craft Center is a comprehensive Arts Program offering
well equipped facilities and workshops in most areas of the Visual
Arts. The program is both educational and recreational and encour
ages all levels of interest, from beginning hobbyist to serious artist,
each working at his or her own pace. If you have an interest in art or
a favorite hobby, the EMU Craft Center at the University of Oregon
is for you! You’ll find us in the Erl) Memorial Union (13th and
University) on the lower level, east wing.
MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION
Craft Center membership entitles you to use the facilities and tools in
the Craft Center anytime we "re open. Membership is always available
for the entire UO community, UO alumni and current LCC students.
The general public may purchase a Craft Center membership with en
rollment in a Craft Center workshop costing $10 or more. Day use
passes are available for current UO community and UO alumni. I D.
is required. Memberships are valid for the term in which they are pur
chased, and are not refundable.
Membership Fees (per term):
$5 UO students, faculty, staff and spouses
$12 UO alumni, and current LCC' students
$ 12 (ieneral public w/ enrollment in workshop costing $ 10 or more
**Discounts: Memberships are $X for UO alumni, l .CC students and
general public with enrollment in workshop costing $20 or more.
Day Use Fees: $1 UO students, faculty, staff $2 UO alumni
Membership is required for workshops that use ('ratt ('enter facilities
and equipment. Workshops requiring memberships are starred (*)
next to their description.
STUDIO FACILITIES
EMU Craft Center facilities available for use include a ceramics
area with high-fire capabilities, darkrooms equipped for both black
and-white and color printing, a jewelry lab with casting and solder
ing equipment, a woodshop, and facilities tor silkscreen, batik,
stained and fused glass, lapidary, bike repair, sewing, and numerous
fiber techniques. The Craft Center has hand tools, books and
periodicals for member use within the Center. Various supplies are
available for sale; lockers are available to members for $1 (small)
or $1.75 (large) per term.
WORKSHOP REGISTRATION
Registration is on a first-come-first-serve basis, continuing
throughout the term until classes begin or are filled. Preregistration
is strongly recommended to ensure your place in a class. Workshop
registration can lx* be done in-person or by mail, and must be
accompanied by full payment. Members of the University commu
nity purchasing Craft Center memberships will be required to
present University I D.
REFUND POLICY
Workshops will be refunded 1(X)C 72 hours prior to the first
meeting, 0% thereafter. “Special" workshops are not refundable.
If ;i workshop is cancelled, a full refund will be given. Workshops
which do not meet the minimum requirements will be cancelled on
or before the first class meeting. Memberships are not refund
able. If a membership was purchased at 1/2 price with a workshop,
the full membership fee will lx charged in the event that the student
w ithdraws from the class.

The HMU Craft Center has various hand and power tools for current UO
students to check out on a 24-hour basis. A limit of 10 tools may be
checked out at one time. Rental fees are $.25 for hand tools and $ 1 .(X) for
most power tools, and must be paid when tools are checked out. Student
l.D. must be left as deposit during the rental period.
