The University will hold its spring commencement
ceremonies Sunday. June 10. at Aut.-en Stadium
The exercises will begin at noon with a University
wide gathering of graduates and guests at the stadium
After the commencement address and the conferring of
degrees. University President Myles Brand will present the
Distinguished Service Awards and will recognise the re
cipients of the Burlington Northern. Charles E Johnson
Memorial. Ersted Distinguished Teaching and Graduate
Teaching Fellow awards The following is a partial list of
awards and this year's recipients:
• Burlington Northern Award Gerald Ungson, associate
professor of management and director of the University's
international business program. Daniel P Kimble, profes
sor and head of the psychology department and R James
Mooney, professor of law
• Ersted Distinguished Teaching Award Leonora Cohen,
assistant professor of education, and Jack Watson, assis
tant professor of theater arts
• Graduate Teaching Fellow Award Caroline Jewers. doc
toral candidate in comparative literature. Tatyana
Gorokhovskaya, master's degree candidate in Russian
Honorable mention will go to James Thornton, doctoral
candidate in economics
• Distinguished Service Award Otto J Fromayer, Medford
attorney, Paul Olum. retired University president, anri Aar
on Novick, retired director of University s Institute of Mo
