#Folkfest’89 Mary DeMocker Mary DeMocker began play ing the classical harp at age nine and the folk harp at age 22 She has performed street music with both types of harps, and has participated in the Village Voice Street Musi cian's Fair in New York City In the spring of 1988. De Mocker won a Ruth Lorraine Close Harp scholarship for study at the University of Ore gon with Sally Maxwell. That spring she was also a recipi ent of the New York State Council on the Arts LIFT grant tor a series of concerts in nursing homes In the future.
