A number of other personal
bests were set. including Bob
Gray’s 13.35 in the 110-meter
high hurdles, which moved
him just eight hundredths of a
second (13.87 is NCAA qualify
ing) from a trip to Provo. Gray
also ran a leg on the 400-meter
relay team, which clocked a
season best of 40.01. just 16
hundredths shy of the 39.85
necessary for NCAA competi
t ion.
“The timing of this meet was
nice, because the wind wasn't
blowing too hard, and the
weather is conducive to the
performances,” sprint coach
George Walcott said.
Walcott, in an attempt to
make things more interesting
for the Oregon sprint relay
crew, ran a leg on the Oregon
International 400-meter relay
team, which finished second.
