Keith Reynolds has had little
problem adjusting to Pacific-10
basketball in his first season at
Oregon
After spending two seasons
at the (College of Southern Ida
ho. Reynolds, a graduate of
Springfield High School, has
worked his way into the start
ing line up and has boon a big
part of the I)uck offense
Reynolds enrolled at South
ern Idaho after a lack of math
credits in high school left him
unable to play NCAA Division I
basketball his freshman season
"I had some good choii es of
Division I schools.” Reynolds
said, "but I went to a junior
college so I wouldn't have to sit
out a year I also got two years
of experience. If I had gone to a
Division I school I would have
had to adapt more coming out
of high school instead of lining
able to help the team right
away."
Reynolds helped lead the
(iolden bugles to the national
junior college championship
his freshman year as Southern
Idaho posted a 3H-1 record De
spite missing 1H games last
year with a broken ankle. Reyn
olds was an all-region pick on a
31-4 team that were region
champs The transformation to
Pac-10 basketball hasn't lieen
that tough though
“It really hasn't been that
tough." Reynolds said of his
move "We ran a lot in junior
college and played at a quicker
pace I also played against Lin
coln Minor (now at Kansas) and
Mookie Blaylock (now at Okla
homa) so that gave me some
pretty good experience."
This season Reynolds has
played both off-guard and
small forward His play above
the rim and his long-range
jump shots have made him a
M< Arthur Court crowd pleaser.
evoking memories of former
Dm k Anthony Taylor
“I've heard the comparisons
made between him and I.”
