It’s that time again
Students bundled in bright -
colored gortex head up to
where it's cold and wet to race
down hills or to trek through
the woods, while the rest of us
are left lx-hind to wander the
streets of Eugene, aimlessly, in
search of something to do.
What is there to do when the
days shrink and the rain comes.’
(I mean besides guzzling beer
and twiddling your thumbs.)
Good question. Below is a guide
to some of hugcne’s more ex
citing forms of entertainment,
and suggestions to help cure
those winter blues.
Well, the first thing that
usually comes to mind is the
movie. Let's rent a video and
make popcorn and invite some
friends over boring. Be a lit
tle more imaginitive. How about

form of entertainment there is
always the Hult Center. Beginn
ing Dec. 1, the center will
feature everything from South
African entertainment to the
Nylons to The Nutcracker (per
formed by the Eugene Ballet).
Eugene also houses a number
of other performance theaters,
including the University’s own
Robinson Theatre, the Very
Little Theatre, 2)S0 Hilyard St.,
and the theater at South
Eugene High School, 400 E.

On the lighter side, you could
catch some relatively inexpen
sive chuckles at the Black
Angus-KZEL comedy night.
Every Tuesday evening at 9
p.m., the Black Angus features
the popular comedy talent of
such names as Jeb Fink, bagpipe
comedian John Johnston, and
ventriloquist John Kennar.
Tickets are $4 per person;
however, if you eat dinner at
the Black Angus the same even
ing, admission is free.
Speaking of dinner, if you are
one to stuff your face more as a
form of entertainment than as a
means of sustenance, perhaps
