"We've created lakes where
there didn't use to be lakes, so
all the normal wildlife, in
cluding birds, mammals, rep
tiles and amphibians that live
around lakes, are now around
these lakes," Lamster said.
“Fern Ridge is the most well
known because it has a lot of
shallow, marshy areas so you
get all the typical wading birds
values on the south area and the
Amazon Slough and some of the
wetland areas in the south than
there are in the north side,”
Chapman said. However,
Richardson Park does have
some marsh and wildlife areas,
he said.
Besides Richardson Park,
Lane County also operates Or
chard Point and Zumwalt parks
at Fern Ridge. Orchard Point
and lots of
song birds
that live in the
marshes.” he
said, adding
that Dexter is
the home to a
few elk and
deer as well.

Fish and
Wildlife
