who fought in it, on the correspondents who covered it, and
on American society in general. This course focuses on a
number of representative books written about the war by
authors who were directly involved m it, either as veterans or
as correspondents. Topics include heroism in Vietnam, the
unpact of the war on individuals and groups, and the antiwar
