Mayoral 'Butte'-ification
Eugene mayor Brian Obie leads the way during the Mayor's Walk, a new feature of
the Butte to Butte Race held July 4. The Walk was added to allow less active par
ticipants to sham in the holiday activities, while more serious athletes competed in the
10-kilometer road race held the same day.
Former Oregon trackster Don Clary captured the 10-kilometer run in 28:56. while
current Oregon runner Annette Hand won the women's competition in 33:54.
