Park it
With student elections ended
and more promises about a solu
tion to the huge parking pro
blem at this university. I would
like to suggest a modest pro
posal that would accomplish
two things at once.
It would first send a message
to the people who have been
treating this issue lightly that
maybe it's time to do something
about it.
Second, it would give people
like me, who are sick to death of
arriving late for classes and get
ting tickets every other day. a
real break for a few days or
weeks until the problem is
eradicated.
My proposal is as follows:
Park wherever you want,
whenever you want, for as long
as you want, and when all the
real spaces run out. make your
own spaces, whether it be in the
courtyard, in the barricaded
section of 13th, or on the front
steps of |ohnson Hall.
You’ll probably get a few
tickets but if overyone who
drove cars did this, it would, at
least keep those self-righteous
campus cops' hands busy for a
few hundred hours Anarchy?

With the pending House Bill
2325. there are some things we
all need to consider.
People who say that "we
should accept homosexuals and
not judge their lifestyle”
generally believe that they are
doing the homosexual a favor.
No one does the homosexual a
favor by urging the rest of socie
ty to accept the behavior as
normal.
We don't hear many people
saying that we should stop en
couraging the drug addict or the
alcoholic to seek help. Similarly
shouldn’t we continue to en
courage tho homosexual to
change his ways?
When you hear of the tens of
thousands of homosexuals in
San Francisco with the AIDS
virus in their bodies, you need
to ask, "Did that city do anyone
a favor by having such a tolerant
attitude towards
homosexuality?"
Many of these men might be
living normal, happy lives to
day. free from the AIDS threat,
had they berm encouraged to
seek help rather than encourag
ed to remain in homosexuality.
Real love involves caring
enough for someone so that you
will help them. When you |ust
tell someone to do their own
thing regardless of the conse
quences, you are really en
couraging them to lie irrespon
sible, and you are really saying
that you don't care about what
happens to them, to their
health, or to their relationships.
