After enduring tlit* rule of underdog tor so long, the
Oregon men's tennis team finally enjoyed a couple of aftei
noons in the sun this week.
Heavily favored against 1.infield College and Lewis and
Clark ( a)llege, the I)ucks didn't disappoint. capping its two
da\ home stand on Wednesday !>\ thrashing an undermann
eel 1 .ewis and Clark squad, 'l l) (Jregon’s rei ord now stands at
t»-7.

I he victories came on the heels ol a strong showing in
the Intercollegiate Championships last weekend, when the
Ducks edged the University of Portland for se< ond place.
The Urn ks hope that the momentum they've huilt in the
last week w ill aid them this weekend as the\ t nmpete in the
Pacific Northwest Intercollegiate Team Championships in
Seattle.
Oregon coach Buzz Summers was pleased with the vie
lories, but was happier about the fact that the Din ks con
tinned to improve and play good tennis, even against weaker
competition "I’ve been pleased with our pla\ all season."
Summers said "But this last week we've plaved real I \ well'
