outside shot."
Although all five Oregon
starters finished in double
figures Wednesday against
Eastern Washington. Heiny was
displeased with the lack of a
running game—they finished
with only 12 fast-break points,
most of which occurred after the
game was academic.
He blamed that partly on
point guard Carol Drouet’s
knee, which may have been re
injured in the final regular
season game against the Univer
sity of California at Berkeley last
week.
"She was a little sluggish at
first, but she came on strong
towards the end,” Heiny said.
The other part was geared
towards the strong defense of
the Eagles, a team which kept
the game close until a late
Oregon run.
“1 think maybe we were play
ing a team that was better than
everyone thought,” Heiny said.
But that game is history, and
now the empahasis is on a win
Saturday, which is the last
home appearance for seniors
Lauri Landerholm, Gabi
Neumann and Kim Neal.
“I don't even think our team
knows the next game is in Los
Angeles because we know
we’ve got the lOth-ranked team
in the nation up next," Heiny
said.
"1 think it’s been a very good
season for all of us. and the
team isn’t done yet. Right now
we’re winning for pride and to
show we can do it."
