Has wondering what to do on Valentine’s Day
got your heart in a knot? Don’t despair. Here’s a
list of Valentine’s Day activities to please even the
most finicky of valentines:
Dig out a white tablecloth and a romantic
record and invite your valentine over for a
candlelight dinner complete with wine and
dessert. Flowers add a special touch.
Add some spice to your love life. Set the table
for two and order a heart-shaped pizza from Track
Town Pizza, 1809 Franklin Blvd., 484-2799.
Satisfy your sweetie's sweet tooth. Pick up a
heart-shaped cake from the Fall Creek Bakery,
881 E. 13th Ave.
Take your valentine for a soak at Onsen I lourly
Hot Tub Rental, 1883 Garden St. For $10, you and
your sweetie can soak away the week’s tensions.
Make some popcorn and snuggle up to your
valentine in front of some romantic movies. Rent
a VCR and some classic films such as "Gone With
The Wind" or "Casablanca.”
Put on your dancing shoes and head to the
Eugene Hilton for the Crazy 8s show. Admission
of $7 advance and $9 the day of the show will
treat you and your sweetheart to some of the Nor
thwest’s best tunes. Tickets are available at the
Eugene Hilton, the EMU Main Desk, Everybody’s
Records, Valley River and Earth River Records.
For the sophisticated valentine, don your even
ing best and attend a performance of The Oregon
Mozart Players at the Soreng Theatre in the Hult
Center for the Performing Arts. Tickets are $9.50,
$7.50 and $6 and are available at the Hult Center
box office.
Take your same-sex sweetie to Dance for a Gay
Valentine's Day at the Wesley Center, 1236 Kin
caid St. For $3, you and your valentine can dance
to the sounds of Transister from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m.

For the valentine you love more than words
can express, go see Marcel Marceau at the Mult
Center’s Silva Concert Hall at H p.m. Tickets are
$15, $13.50 and $10.50 and are available at the
Hult Center box office.
Whisper sweet nothings in the ear of a faraway
valentine. Talk to someone special in the con
tinental United States free for three minutes at
Valley River ('enter from 10 a m. to 2 p.m.
Put a smile on your valentine's face. Catch live
comedy at Edison’s Bar at The Factory restaurant,
4740 Main St., Springfield. The show starts at 9
p.m. and costs $5.
Treat your sweetheart to free cake and a flower
at the Fifth Street Public Market. Cake will 1m;
served at 1 p.m., and flowers will be available
from noon to 4 p.m. Also enjoy a serenade from a
walking minstrel.
For the valentine with an artistic touch, check
out some valentine motif collages by Maureen
Culligan, on display at the Opus 5 Gallery, 136 E.
Broadway.
Capture the romance of the '50s. Have a ham
burger, fries and a thick chocolate malt at Jamie's
Great Hamburgers, 2445 Hilyard St. or 1810
Chambers St. The '50s decor and style will have
you anti your sweetie humming a romantic tune
of the times.
“Count the ways" you love your valentine
with timeless prose. Head to the University Main
Eibrary and check out some classic poetry books.
