For t h o Ducks, their
"Triple-K" combination of Teri
Kramer. Michele Krebsbach and
lauri Krejcha turned out to be
only one *‘K" — Krejcha.
Krejcha. playing one of her
best matches on the season,
chalked up 1W kills with a 54H
hitting percentage and nine
blocks
The other two were frustrated
by the Stanford defense all after
noon Kramer was held to a 151
hitting percentage, while
Krebsbach only put 10 kills
d o w n and had a -.02 0
percentage.
"It was really frustrating for
Michele and I." Kramer said
"We tried all our shots, and
nothing seemed to work. We
just kept shooting, hoping
something would happen."
Krebsbach had the same
feeling.
"They put up a really good
block and road us wall.”
Krebsbach said
This was exactly what Stan
ford coach Don Shaw had in
mind
“They are a good squad, bill
are real predictable We
disregarded a couple of their
other players to key on Kramer
and krebsbach Oregon doesn’t
set their offense enough to
change the game plan." Shaw
said.
"Our object was to get out on
top and get the momentum —
not to sw'ing back and forth.”
Shaw said "We wanted to take
the crowd out of the match, anti
I think we did a good job of lin
ing that ”
In game one. it looked like the
Ducks were going to get
momentum to flow their way
w hen Krejcha stuffed a Cardinal
overpass to tie the score at five.
Hut then the Cardinal went on a

hot streak, outscoring the Ducks
7-1, and suddenly the "Pit”
was deathly quiet.
Oregon then started a small
rally with a pair of Stephanie
Snyder and Krejcha blocks to
cut the deficit 12-8. The Car
dinal then came right back with
a Fonatana kill to get side out
and promptly scored two more
on a Brooke llahner and Reno
block and another Fontana kill
Oregon then called for a
timeout and managed to score
once more, before Stanford took
the game when Krebsbach's kill
went wide.
in that first game Kramer
recorded hertiHHth kill, passing
All-American Sue Harbour's
single season record set in 1083.
Kramer's kill total lor the das
was 20. putting her season total
to 703 — six more than her last
two seasons combined.
In game two. the Ducks went
up 0-3 on a Monica Camp bloc k,
but that was the last lead they
would see in the game, as the
Cardinal went on a tear to
outscore the Ducks 12-1.
In game three. Fontana con
tinued her arsenal on the Ducks,
slamming down two kills to
help put the Cardinal in front
4-0. Oregon then gained posses
sion on a Krejcha kill and tied
the game after four Stanford at
ihok errors.
The (Cardinal then went on
another run. out scoring the
hosts 6-2. to take a 10-6 lead.
Possesion then changed five
times before the Ducks did
something they hadn't done all
afternoon — got on a hot streak.
Kramer and Tina Adolph
scored a pair on service aces,
and Krebsbach recorded a kill
and a block to give the Ducks
the first lead of the game. 11-10.
After a Stanford timeout, the
Ducks scored their final four on
two Stanford errors, a (lamp ace
and a Stephanie Drier-Snyder
block to get the win.
The momentum didn't carry
into game four, though, as Stan
ford went ahead before the
Ducks were on the wrong end of
a questionable call by the
officials.
