Festival offers summer fun
It was more than your average
summer fair. The 25th annual
Scandinavian Festival in Junc
tion City, which began on
Thursday, offered four days of
events, including the popular
10-kilometer Scandia Run on
Saturday and a barbecue dinner
on Sunday.
Audiences flocked to two
stages to watch a variety of
Scandinavian music and folk
dancing, and then hit the beer
garden and wine terrace to cool
down with refreshing
beverages. A younger crowd
congregated at the Bailey Park
tennis courts to demonstrate
some df their own dancing.
Filling up on aebleskivers
and home-baked cinnamon rolls .
proved to be a popular activity
as the lines at all' the food
booths remained long for the
duration of the festival.
Festival organizers could'not
estimate exact attendance
- because there was no admission
charge- Howeyer, before the
festival, began the turn-out was
