Photo by Kovi Mai tin Bellisimo has high hopes for keglers By Capi Lynn Of I hr Kmerald Although not well-known or publicized, the men’s and women’s varsity bowling teams are looking to have successful club sport seasons under head coach Lou Bellisimo and player coach Kendra Hensley. ’They have the potential to become one .of the greatest teams I've ever coached,’ boasts Bellisimo of his men’s team. ‘However, at this point, they have a long way to go.' Bellisimo has returned to the helm of the men’s team this year to coach on a volunteer basis. He had previously coached the Duck bowling team from 1950 to 1972, before moving to Lane Community College, where he taught for 12 years. Kelley bowled the Ducks' high game with a pinfall of 183 when they hosted Oregon State Oct. 25. OSlJ's Dan Orden tallied the highest game in this season opener with 190, just ahead of Kelley. The Ducks have lost to both Oregon State and Portland CC, while recording a win over Portland State. Hensley is acting as player coach for the eight member women’s team this year, although Bellisimo helps out at times. Both teams compete in a con ference which includes Lower Columbia, Mt.
