Don’t miss the week’s fun Homecoming ’84 kicks off Wednesday in the EMU with an ASUO Open House from l to 4 p.m. Come meet the students running your government and see how it’s done. It’s rumored that the leaders may even sub mit themselves to the cold waters of a dunk tank. From that event, you can move to another social affair without even leaving the building. The Campus Beer Gardens will host all those will ing to loosen up and celebrate the Homecoming spirit from 4 to 7 p.m. After a full . evening of - socializing and drinking up the spirits Wednesday, get ready for some physical action Thursday. The Greek system and Miller Lite Beer will host the second annual Homecoming Tug-of War at Howe Field at 2 p.m. Come watch eight to 10 dorms. 10 to 12 greek houses and the Student University Relations Council tug it out — rain or' shine. From there, nighttime parties continue, taking priority over homework, of course. A Residence Hall Barbecue begins at 4 p.m. Dorm dwellers can gather at the corner of 15th Avenue and Agate Street for a scrumptious feast. At 6 p.m., Quacker backers will invade the Red Lion Motor Inn on Gateway Street in Spr ingfield for this year’s Indoor Tailgate Party. Join the crowd for this wacky preview to Satur day’s fun. Friday’s festivities begin on a slightly more serious note with the second annual Town and Gown Light Parade, but end up with a loud and cheery Pep Ral ly at the downtown plaza. The parade will wind downtown from the University beginning at dusk — 6:30 p.m. or so. If all goes well, the pep rally should start at about 8:30 p.m. and will feature a Giant Snake Dance — don’t miss out on the oppor tunity find out what that’s all about. A 9 a.m. Breakfast Party in the Autzen Stadium alumni tent will start the day off right. immediately following breakfast, fans can load up with cheer at the Pregame Party, which begins at 10:30 a.m. Meanwhile, beginning at 11 a.m., judges will be checking out Homecoming Signs design ed by different campus living groups. Don’t miss these works of art! Tug-of-War will come under the spotlight again during halftime of the Duck-Cougar confrontation, as a Duck rope pulling team faces a group from Washington State University. The party atmosphere con tinues after the game with an alumni-sponsored Post-game Party in the alumni tent at 4 p.m. Through the rest of the night, students and alumni alike will be able to get ac quainted with Greek living dur ing the Greek Open House and then celebrate the night away at the All-campus Dance, which takes place in the EMU at 8 p.m. with music compliments of The Receivers. The week of Homecoming festivities winds down Sunday with a Homecoming Brunch at the Eugene Hilton Hotel at 11 a.m. The brunch will honor the University’s outstanding alumni.
