Forum lectures begin with talk on Faust legend The first of this year’s Univer sity Forum presentations will take place tonight as English Prof. Thelma Greenfield delivers a speech on Faust at the Eugene Conference Center. The forum series is an oppor tunity for the University staff to meet with community members and address topics of interest. This is the third year of the program. Greenfield's speech, titled "Soul for Sale: The Legend of Faust in Western Culture.” is presented in conjunction with the Eugene Opera's production of Gounod’s Faust on Wednes day and Friday. University . President Paul Olum is scheduled to deliver the next address. His topic, "The History of the Manhattan Project.” will be held Nov. 20. Later this year, Brayton Pojka, professor of humanities in history at York University in Toronto, will give a speech titi • ed "The Greeks and" the Bible: The lntergration of Faith and Reason in Human Life."” The speech will take place Dec. 4. All lectures begin at 8 p.m. at the Conference Center and ad ftiission is'free.
