When you have all your
materials and have pre-washed
the shirt, you’re ready to begin.
It’s a good idea to protect the
floor with old Emeralds or other
newspapers. Cover a piece of
cardboard with plastic and slide
it between the front and back
layers of the shirt. This will pre
vent the paint from seeping
through to the back side.
Let your left brain take over
and see what happens. When
your masterpiece is completely
dry (overnight is best), iron it
with a hot iron from the back
side of the shirt to permanently
set the paint. From then on, the
T-shirt can be washed normally.
This winter, when searching
for fun and exciting indoor ac
tivities, painting T-shirts is a
creative and rewarding way to
use your spare time; then when
spring rolls around you will
have an array of designer
originals to wear. Just watch.
