USSCA ski clinic offered
A cross-country ski clinic,
coordinated by the United
States Ski Coaches Association,
is scheduled Oct. 20 from 9 a.m.
to 4 p.m. at Amazon Communi
ty Center, 2700 Hilyard St.
An outdoor session will be
held Oct. 21 at Campbell Senior
Center, 155 High St.
The clinics are open to cross
country skiers of all abilities,
coaches, instructors and ski
shop personnel. The U.S. ski
team coaching staff will trace
the latest techniques developed
through their sports medicine
program.
Topics include ski tech
niques, instructional drills,
equipment and brief discus
sions on sports psychology and
physiology. Films and videos of
top-level racing and instruction
sequences will also be
presented.
The clinics are sponsored by
the Eugene Parks and Recrea
tion Department Outdoor Pro
gram. Cost is $10 for USSA and
USSCA members and $12 for
non-members. Interested per
sons may register at the River
House, 301 N. Adams St.
