Mime workshop set
If a picture is worth a thousand words, is mime the superior form of drama?
Francisco Reynders of the Oregon Mime Theatre might have an answer. Reynders will
conduct a workshop combining performance and discussion Tuesday, at 12:30 p.m. in the
EMU Forum Room. ... .
Activities include a performance at 12:30 p.m. in the Forum Room and a lecture and
demonstration in the Dad's Room at 3:30 p.m. Participants will have an opportunity to
observe mime techniques and join in a discussion of mime as an art form.
Reynders founded the Oregon Mime Theatre in 1972 and has continued on as its artistic
director. In addition to studying with the well-known Etienne Decrous at L Ecoledu Mime ot
Paris, Reynders has been a performer with a Dutch muscial comedy company, and traveled as
Touring Artist for the American Association of Colleges.
The Cultural Forum is sponsoring the free event, which is open to the public, children
under 12, however, may have a difficult time understanding the material presented.
Cable to repeat rock show

Would you dare place the synapses of your brain in the hands of the Monoettes? Not that Pam
Sherman or Maija Wilder (pictured above being overtly friendly with a bit of wall-philosophy)
would cause brain damage. ,
However, longtime viewers of the Monoettes' show on cable access channel 11 will certainly be
experiencing a sense of deja vu Friday at 9 p.m., when the group will have a repeat showing of their
Halloween "Mono Zone" special. The special includes footage of the Rock Against Reagan concert
in Skinner's Butte Park and interviews with Black Flag and E-13, Eugene's thrash-rockers.
