    Breakfast, an easy walk
to campus-area cafes
Relax. Let someone do the cook
ing for you.
There's a whole bevy of
breakfast places around the
University area, with virtually
everything being served that your
mom, dad or maid fixed for you
while you were still at home.
Some of the lowest prices for
breakfast can be found at the
Fountain Court Cafe in the EMU.
Open from 7-10:30 a.m. Monday
through Friday, the cafe^erves up
breakfast specials of two eggs,
hashbrowns, toast and jelly for
$1.25. Three-egg omelettes served
with hashbrowns and toast go for
$1.75, while croissants, juice, stash
tea, fresh fruit and other items can
be purchased there.
Right off campus on Kincaid is
Rennie's Landing, which is open
for breakfast from 7:30-10:30 a.m.
Monday through Friday with later
hours on Saturday.
Rennie’s' has a special of two
eggs, hash browns or home fries,
toast or english muffin, small
wedges of fruit and coffee or tea
for $1.50. Rennie's also features
Allann Brothers coffee and
W Genesis apple juice.
)ohn and Sandy's on Alder is
"The Breakfast Place.” The menu
is almost exclusively breakfast
orientated, and the jam, bread,
cinnamon rolls and other foods
are made right in the restaurant.
Open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.,
John and Sandy's offers a
breakfast special for $1.75 that
changes every week.
Breakfast specials change just
about every day at the Campus
Glenwood, which is located on
Alder and is open from 7 a.m. to 3
p.m. The menu features over 10
different kinds of omelettes, in
eluding “The Works," which has
ham, mushrooms, bell peppers,
onions, cheese and Spanish sauce
for $3.95. Campus Clenwood also
has outdoor seating.
There are quite a few
restaurants on Broadway and
Franklin which either exclusively
serve breakfast or have a large
breakfast menu. These include
three pancake houses, one
Dunkin' Donuts and two locally
owned restaurants, Hoots and
Mission Mexican Cuisine along
the "strip."
Hoots is open 24 hours a day
and serves breakfast 24 hours a
day. The menu includes
everything from a 16-ounce rib
steak with eggs to omelettes, waf
fles and homemade buns. Hoots
also has three breakfast specials
and 35-cent coffee with up to
three free refills.
The Excelsior has a Sunday
brunch from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. If
Eggs Benedict, Eggs Florentine or
other fancy dishes sound good
and the pocketbook is ready and
willing, this brunch is for you. The
Excelsior also serves a continental
breakfast from 9-11 a.m. on
weekdays.
Poppi's serves breakfast Satur
day and Sunday only from 9 a.m.
to 2 p.m. The menu is, of course,
decidedly Greek in flavor. "Frit
tata Genovese" is a spinach, basil,
cheese and onion omelette top
ped with parmesan cheese.
Lenny's Nosh Bar has a cham
pagne brunch on Sunday from
10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Four-egg
omelettes for $2.25 are served
along with the 75 cent
champagne.
