GENERAL INFORMATION BUS STOPS Bus stop signs are placed approximately every two blocks within Eugene/ Springfield. Please wait at these locations to catch the bus. On outlying area routes, wait at a safe location where the bus can pull in and out easily, and signal the bus by raising your hand as it approaches. On these routes, on dark, foggy mornings, you might use a flashlight to signal the driver. Before you board, allow passengers to exit and let people in wheelchairs board first. Then, as you enter, deposit your fare in the coin box or show your monthly pass or transfer to the driver. To let the driver know that you want to get off at the next stop, pull the signal cord. Signal cords run along either side of the bus by the passenger windows. Pull the cord one block from your stop. Then make your way to either door after the bus comes to a complete halt. Most popular bus stops have benches and shelters for your comfort and convenience.
