Your Services (For details see U of O Health Center brochure) General medical attention and treatment. (All visits to Health Center staff physicians have been paid for by your student health fee.) Women’s Clinic. (Provides services such as breast and pelvic exams and Pap Smears, treatment of gynecological problems and sexually - transmitted diseases, fitting and prescribing of all birth control methods, information, and pregnancy testing and counseling.) Minor surgery. (Major surgery and other procedures requiring general anesthesia and specialists' services are referred to private physicians.) Sports Medicine Clinic. (Provides services for athletes, recreationalists and just plain folks who have injuries, pain, or who need advice regarding physical activities and conditioning.) Allergy Clinic. Nutrition Counseling. (Diet analysis and an individualized weight control program can be discussed during a session with the nutrition educator.) Immunizations Clinic. Health Education. (The new health education center contains a library, free pamphlets and self care displays. Peer health educators staff the room to answer your questions.) Insurance billing. (Could save you money.) Pharmacy with registered pharmacists. (Prescriptions from either health center physicians or outside physicians may be filled for registered students. Some generic drugs are available to save you money, as well as a limited supply of over the counter drugs at a reduced rate.) Psychiatric consultations. (By staff psychiatrists.) Physical Therapy. (Patients need a physician’s referral for treatment from either a health center physician or outside physician.) Licensed clinical laboratory. (A fee is charged but it is generally lower (usually 20%) than fees charged by comparable laboratories.) Premarital examinations. Diagnostic x-ray facility. (A fee is charged for your x-ray work at a rate approximately 20-30 percent less than average prices.) Care of simple fractures. Call CAMPUS EMERGENCY EXT. 2223 for assistance. The urgent care entrance is the west side of the building (Beech Street entrance). Emergency calls are made to all campus housing and University buildings when necessary. What You've Paid For: There is no charge for a number of Health Center services because you have paid for them with your student'health fee: (1) All visits to Health Center staff physicians. (2) Nursing care. (3) Mental health care. What You will Be Billed For: The University Business Office in Oregon Hail will bill you for all lab tests, x-rays, medications, shots, physical therapy, and special procedures, under some circumstances you will be billed for failure to keep an appointment. If you are referred for service outside the Student Health Center, you will be responsible for all bills. Your Health Center provides general medical ambulatory care. There Is no hospital care. It Is strongly urged that you have health insurance coverage for hospitalization and unexpected emergency situations.
