Music school will host
classical trio tonight

The Rogeri Trio will perform
at 8 p.m. today in Beall Concert
Hall as part of the University
Chamber Music Series
The group will perform
Beethoven s Trio in D Major,
Symphony No 2, Op 36, Ives'
Trio and Tchaikovsky's Trio in A
minor, Op. 50.
Trio members are Barbara
Weintraub, piano, Richard
Young, violin and Carter Brey,
cello
The top prize winner in the
1978 International Munich
Competition, Weintraub has
performed as a soloist with a
number of American orches
tras
Young, highly praised by
many of today's composers, has
played in recitals and solo ap
pearances with orchestras
throughout the United States
and abroad
Brey, the top American prize
winner at the Rostropovich In
ternational Cello Competition at
Paris in 1981, also was awarded
first place at the 27th
International Munich Competi
tion
The Rogeri Trio has played
throughout the United States
and has been in residence at
Hartt College of Music and at
Yale University, where it pre
sented the complete Brahms
chamber music with the Tokyo
String Quartet
The trio is currently the res
ident emsemble at Oberlin Con
servatory
Tickets for reserved seats,
which went on sale Monday at
the University music school, are
selling for $6 and $4 Tickets will
also be available at the door
New bike regulations

New rules governing licensing and use of bicycles at the
University will be the topic of a public hearing 3pm tonight in
EMU Room 101
The rules provide for the registration and licensing of
bicycles used on campus and state where these bicycles may
be used and parked, says Muriel Jackson, assistant for
administration in the President's Office She will serve as
hearing officer
The new rules will make previous policies more formal and
provide rules for registration of bicycles with the University's
public safety office
