Association of Oregon Facul

Wingard also boasts
endorsements by the Oregon
Environmental Council and the
Oregon AFL-CIO along with a
95 percent rating from the Lane
County Democratic Central
Committee Wingard is proud of
his environmental stands and
says the most significant envir
onmental issue addressed in the
last session of the legislature
was the Senate bill to clean up
Wah Chang's low level nuclear
waste dump in the Willamette
River flood plain
"I don't want Oregon to be a
dumpsite for low level nuclear
waste,” Wingard says
Hendriksen is also opposed to
dumping at the site
Novice Cross goes against incumbent Ed Fadeley

tical novice Mike Cross is
challenging incumbent Dem
ocrat Edward Fadely for the
Senate District 21 seat in the
Nov 2 election
Cross, who’s only prior
governmental experience is
with the Willamalane Com
prehensive Review Committee
and his precinct, is tackling the
Goliath of the Senate's
Democratic faction Fadely has
been in the Senate for 18 years
and is currently the co
chairman of the Joint Ways and
Ed Fadeley is an 18-year veteran
of the Senate
landed the Republican nomina
tion Senate District 21
Fadeley says he is not
"cavalier” about his opponent's
try for the seat But he says if
people can remember Fadeley s
accomplishments "they will
vote for me because of the skill
level, even though I am fat and
fifty "
