Pots and pans priced at a pittance

Have you looked at the price
tags on dishes, silverware and
cooking utensils lately? Absolu
tely atrocious, aren't they? Well,
things are tight all over But not
if you know where to look
There are numerous places to
find both new and used cook
ware and cutlery, at prices that
won't warp your wallet The
following stores sell some of the
most inexpensive kitchen uten
sils in town, and most are close
to home It is often a good idea
to call a store ahead of time and
ask them what they have to
avoid an unnecessary trip
Goodwill stores: Eugene
branch, 265 W. Eighth Avenue,
343-4332, and in Springfield,
216 Main Street, 746-9037 They
carry most kinds of kitchen
ware, but keep checking to get
the item wanted
St. Vincent De Paul has four
branches to choose from
Eugene Downtown, 110 E
Eleventh Avenue, 344-2115; the
River Road branch, 2053 River
Road, 689-9327; in Springfield,
501 Main Street, 747-5811; and
the Warehouse, 1880 W.
Eleventh Avenue, 345-0595. All
branches carry kitchen utensils,
but quantities and goods fluc
tuate Again, keep checking
The Company Store On the
corner of Second Avenue and
Polk Street, this shop is full of
kitchen cookware — but it's not
out front Prices can be
modified, it depends on the
mood of the merchant
Salvation Army: In Eugene,
451 W Eleventh Avenue,
343-3341 In Springfield, the
corner of Mill and Main streets
At present, both branches boast
pots, pans, and dishes, but the
Eugene branch currently is out
of silverware
Sac's Thrift Ave., located on
the corner of Tenth and Oak
Streets is fairly new to Eugene
with a variety that is almost
endless There’s an added at
traction — 10-cent soda pop
Last but not least — Wool
worth's on the Eugene Down
town mall. Woolworth’s carries
dishes, tea kettles, and cook
ware, as well as all the other
usual utensils. They sell a small
spatula for a dollar
