The end of spring term on
June 11 at the University sig
nalled the beginning of summer
hours for major campus build
ings.
From June 22 to August 13,
the Main Library will be open
Monday through Friday, 8 a m
to 5 p.m. It will be closed on
weekends.
During the same weeks, gen
eral summer hours for the EMU
will be 7 a m. to 7 p.m. Monday
through Thursday and 7 a.m. to
4 p.m. on Friday. It will be closed
weekends unless conferences
or programs are scheduled.
All campus buildings except
the Law Library will be closed
July 5 for an extended Indepen
dence Day weekend
The Health Center will resume
normal hours today at 8 a.m.
and Oregon Hall will remain
open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday
through Friday.
Widowed services
The Widowed Services Pro
gram at the University Center
tor Gerontology has scheduled
another series of eight group
meetings for children of
deceased parents starting
Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at 1653
Agate St. The first meeting is
also for the surviving parent.
Subsequent meetings will in
clude joint meetings with parent
and child or separate meetings
according to need.
The group will be facilitated
by Delpha Camp, M.S., and
Starlus Showalter, M.A.,
co-counselors in the program

Exhibits
The featured exhibitions this
summer at the University Mu
seum of Art are paintings, mon
oprints and drawings by two
well-known Northwest artists
The “LaVeme” show, which
runs from June 20 to July 25, will
feature the recent works of
University printmaking profes
sor LaVeme Krause Krause is a
well known Eugene artist whose
works are widely exhibited and
collected. Included in her major
exhibition are paintings and
monoprints of European land
scapes, mostly of Italy and
Southwest Europe where she
spent last year on sabbatical
leave, supported by a Wurlitzer
Foundation grant.
Also on display will be select
ed paintings and drawings of
birds, by Morris Graves, an in
ternationally recognized artist,
from the museum's permanent
collection of more than 500
works by the artist. The "A Bird
in Hand" show will also run
June 20-July 25
Graves, whose work is in mu
seums and distinguished
private collections throughout
the United States and Europe,
was bom in Oregon in 1910.
In addition to these major
showings in the large main floor
galleries, the works of Seattle
photographer Peter deLory will
be featured in the "Photography
of Oregon Gallery "
