the 1982-83 school year

1979-80 school year Healy also
served as a sports writer for the
Springfield News
Journalism senior Marian
Green was selected as news
editor Green currently is com
munity editor and was depart
ments and schools editor during
the 1 MO-81 school year She
served an internship as a
reporter on the Valley Times
newspaper in Pleasanton, Calrf
last summer and will serve as an
intern on the Spokesman
Review newspaper in Spokane.

Joan Nyland, who will
graduate from the Honors Col
lege in history this year, was

Bob Baker, a photo jour
nalism senior, was rehired for
his present position of photo
editor.

Paul Danzer, a senior jour
nalism major, was picked for the
assistant sports editor position
Danzer contributed frequently
to the Emerald's sports pages
and served as interim sports
editor last summer at the Gre
sham Outlook
Debbie Howlett, a journalism
senior and 1981-82 depart
ments and schools editor, was
chosen as associate editor tor
higher education Howlett was
news editor during the 1980-81
school year on the Siskiyou, the
student newspaper for SOSC
and was a sports stringer for the
Ashland Daily Tidings
David Brown, who will
transfer from Lane Community
College to the University as a
junior in journalism, will be the
Emerald's 1982-83 community
editor Brown is literary editor of
LCC's Denali Magazine
Kirk Knighton was chosen
politics editor tor the 1982-83
school year Knighton, a senior
in political science and English

Sandy Johnstone, a junioi
