Sunday in the EMU Ballroom following an
international dinner as part of Cultural Night,
an annual event About 30 different acts
showed various aspects of the national or
ethnic cultures represented at the event,
sponsored by the Foreign Student Organiza
tion

Beer chug starts Greek Week
A Sorority-Fraternity Chug
and Pre-Chug Dinner will kick
off the annual University Greek
Week tonight
Scheduled for 7 p.m at the
Phi Kappa Psi house, 729 E
11th Ave., the Chug competition
will consist of teams of three
fraternity and three sorority
members drinking beer Pre
chug dinners will be held at
each sorority for the fraternity
team members at 5:15 p.m
Greek Week, sponsored by
the Panhellenic Council, will al
so include the following events
• Tuesday s "Greek Day of
Giving," consisting of a 7:30-10
am fundraising pancake
breakfast at Sigma Alpha Ep
silon. 812 E 14th Ave , and the
painting of Esslinger Hall from
11 a m to 8 p.m Proceeds from
the breakfast will be donated to
the University for a scholarship
given to an incoming freshman
student in the fall
• Wednesday's Serenade per
formances, in which fraternity
members will visit all 11 sorori
ties to give and view perfor
mances starting at 6:30 p.m
Winners of the competition will
be announced at 10:30 p.m. in
Room 150, Geology Building,
where they will again give their
performances
• Thursdays Games Day
Greeks have reserved the Ger
linger Annex field from 5-9 p.m
for volleyball, tug-of-war. and
other activities
• Friday's Canoe Fete Floats
concurring with an "On Broad
way" theme will be at the Mill
Race beginning at 4.30 p.m for
a 6 p.m competition Awards
will be given in several categor
ies by the Student University
Relations Council Sororities
and fraternities will also be
teamed up for this event
