Audio Directions
Occasionally, we at Napier Audio wish to remind our customers of a few major (but
often overlooked) areas of improving the sound quality of your existing hi-fi systems. If
you suspect a problem in your system, take a few minutes to check the following:
1
*...
:R WIRE PHASING
In order for your speakers to operate correctly, it
is important that the “positive” ( + ) speaker
terminal on amplifier "A” (see figure 1) is wired to
the “positive” terminal on speaker “L” or “R” and
likewise the "negative" (-) terminal on amplifier
"A" connected to the "negative" terminal on
speaker “L" or "R" Work "in-phase”, resulting in
optimum “imaging” and bass performance
Failure to follow this rule could result in an
out-of-phase" relationship, causing the
speakers to work against each other, destroying
the stereo image” and effectively nullifying bass
response

SPEAKER PLACEMENT
Although many compromises must be made in
placing speakers in various room situations,
we have a basic rule to follow: The distance
between speakers "A" and “B” (see figure 2)
should be equal in their distances to listener
"C" in order to produce the desired stereo
image “X". Any variations to this rule will make
the image “X" unrealistically "wide" (if "AB" is
greater than "AC’’ or "BC”) or unrealistically
"narrow" (if "AB” is less than "AC" or "BC").

OPTIMIZING TURNTABLE/CARTRIDGE PERFORMANCE
If you are not certain that your phono cartridge is properly aligned and
balanced in the tonearm of your turntable, it is more than likely out of
adjustment For a modest $5.00 charge, we will adjust your turntable
and cartridge alignment for optimum performance If a new cartridge is
purchased, we will make these adjustments for no charge Bring your
turntable in any time; no appointment is necessary

We hope these simple directions will help you to appreciate the sound of your hi-fi
system, regardless of the make or age of the various components We are here to serve
your audio needs
