company that publishes trade
magazines for pharmaceutical
and cosmetics industries will
move from Inglewood, Calif.,
to Springfield
Edward Aster Publications
will move into the former
Springfield public library on
April 22, Aster said
The building became availa
ble when the library was
moved to the city’s new civic
center.
Linder an agreement with
the city, Aster will lease the
building for 10 years, paying
$4,950 a month in rent for the
first five years and $5,850 a
month thereafter
The city agreed to spend
$100,000 to renovate the
former library into a 30-office
complex and to pay property
taxes of about $13,000 a year
on the building
Aster said about 20 em
ployees will move to Spring
field and another 20 will be
hired after the move
His firm publishes the
monthly magazines Cosmetic
Technology, Pharmaceutical
Technology and Pharmaceu
tical Executive Aster said he
planned to start up another
pharmaceutical magazine in
July
Aster said he picked the
