Melissa Mills, a University

Ashland, is one of 35 undergra
duates from 20 states attending
the second United Nations
Semester in New York this fall
Mills is part of a group of un
dergraduates representing 30
universities from throughout the
nation selected competitively
for the program The National
Collegiate Honors Council and
Long Island University's Brook
lyn Center are co-sponsoring
UN Semester II, which runs
through Dec 23
Offered with the cooperation
of the United Nations. UN
Semester II involves fieldwork
and seminars on the theme of
internationalism Participants
will visit the United Nations and
international communities in the
New York area In the course of
their studies
Seminar subjects include
conflict mediation, urban folk
life. immigrant population, in
ternational issues in economics
and politics, and human rights
The United Nations Semester
is one of a series of educational
projects sponsored by the
National Collegiate Honors
