This weekend at the South Eugene
High School Auditorium the Eugene
Ballet opens 4s fourth season with Cin
derella" the beloved fairy tale of a girl
who becomes a princess with the help of
her fairy godmother and a pair of glass
slippers
Guest artist David Loring of the Amei
ican Concert Ballet in New York will
danefc the role of the Prince Christine
Dyer who is planning to join the Boston
Ballet Company following this
production will dance the role of Cin
derella
Also dancing will be John Gardner as
the Dancing Master, Susan Zadoff as the
Good Fairy Robert Hoggard and Riley
Grannari as the ugly stepsisters Roberta
and Josephina Renee Margolin as the
Stepmother and Tom Pimble as the
Winter Fairy
the Eugene Symphony Orchestra
under the baton of their new music di
rector William McGlaughlm '.will be
accompanying the dancers wiffc Pro
kofiev s famous score ChoreograWung
the ballet are Eugene Ballet artistic di
rectors Riley Grannan and Toni Pimble
The Eugene Ballet Company has come
a long way in its first three years The
recent addition of a board of directors
and more recently general manager
James Toland has given the company a
sound organizational base on which to
build its traditionally fine artistic work
These changes are part of the
