ASUO priorities shift
An extensive restructuring of student government left Pres.
Rich Wilkins with an additional vice president, to allow a greater
emphasis on academic and legislative Issues.

The University's student
government, the Associated
Students of the University of
Oregon, has a totally new struc
ture under Pres Rich Wilkins
Although Wilkins remains in
charge of the day-to-day ad
ministration of the office, in
cluding office management,
budgets, appointments and
communications, tour vice pre
sidents will handle an increased
number of revised responsibili
ties
An additional vice president
has been added to the ASUO
staff this year, reflecting * deci
sion on Wilkins' part to place
more emphasis on academic
and legislative issues than in the
past, according to budget dir
ector Alan Contreras, who
helped with the reorganization

were combined, so no new po
sition actually was created "We

Palmitessa. who ran for office as
Wilkins' running mate, helps

Contreras keeps a watchful eye
on ASUO funds Contreras also
works with the Incidental Fee
Committee as it prepares the
1982-83 budget and represents
the ASUO on the EMU board

fairs, Del Seitringer. deals with
issues that involve the com
