Orientation aides selected
Twelve University students
have been selected to serve as
orientation aides during the
summer Early Orientation and
Registration Program, helping
new students to find their way
around campus and become
familiar with academic prob
lems and social opportunities
During EORP days on July 13,
17, 18, 25 and 26, the aides will
serve as the official University
greeters, welcoming the new
students and their parents upon
their arrival They will also be
responsible for leading campus
tours, staffing information
booths and assisting students
during registration and
academic advising
The aides will attend a day
long session next Saturday to
learn more about the campus
and about University
procedures so they can help
acquaint others with campus
life, says Greg Lobisser. Univer
sity orientation director
"We want the students to
leave EORP with a sense of
belonging to and identification
with the University, ’ says
Lobisser "When these students
return in the fall, we hope they
will already feel a part of the
University "
