though not at the same time
The Oregon Shakespearean
Festival in Ashland continues its
1981 season this summer with
tour plays by the Bard and six by
contemporary playwrights
For Shakespeare butts, the
testival otters Twelfth Night,
Othello. Two Gentlemen of Ve
rona and Henry IV. Part I With
the exception ot Othello, each
Shakespearean play will untold
at the 1,194-seat Elizabethan
Stagehouse. the largest ot the
festival's three theatres
To complement the master,
the festival has added Arthur
Miller's Death of a Salesman.

Shakespearean comedy, has
been widely praised Both will
be presented in the Angus
Bowmer Theatre, named for the
festival s founder The theatre
seats 600
Artichoke. The Birthday Party
and The Island will be presented
at the 140-seat Black Swan
Theatre the festival's only in
door facility
All 10 plays are being per
formed now with the exception
of The Island which opens July
11, and Othello, which opens
August 2
Tickets for the festival aren't
cheap, but theater goers get
what they pay for Per
formances at the Angus
Bowmer and Elizabethan

Oregon Country Fair
returns to Elmira site
Once again, the Oregon
Country Fair will assemble at its
traditional site in Elmira, 13
miles west of Eugene, July 10
through 12
More than 300 booths selling
handmade and hand-gathered
goods and a variety of food will
be set up along the fair's
walkways Two special displays
— the Community Village and
Oregon Energy Horizons — will
provide information on energy
efficient ideas
Entertainment will be offered
at several stage areas
Free bus service from the
Eugene downtown mall will
begin at 10:30 a m and contin
ue every halt-hour on Friday and
every 15 minutes on Saturday
and Sunday The last bus will
leave the fair at 7 p m
Admission to the fair is $4
with children under 12 admitted
free Senior citizens will receive
a $1 discount A guidebook with
fair information, a map and en
tertainment schedules is in
cluded in the admission price
