Center gets new system
The computing center is
about to complete its transition
to a new operating system.
The new system, Known as
“VS1,” will replace the current
“MFT” system. The operating
system is the set of programs
and data that allows the com
puter to function.
Recent acquisition of new
computer hardware made the
system necessary, says Rick
Millhollin, technical services
manager of the University com
puter system.
Millhollin says the most no
ticeable feature of the new sys
tem is its shorter processing
time.
