Six students gain honors
Mothers give scholarships
Six University students will receive scholar
ships from the University Mothers’ Club next year.
The students were honored May 28 during
the organization’s annual spring luncheon.
First-year law student Patricia Wlodarczyk
will receive the Golda Parker Wickham Award.
The full tuition scholarship recognizes scholastic
achievement, leadership, service to the University
or community and financial need. Wickham was
dean of women from 1944-70.
Five other students received $500 University
Mothers' Scholarships based on academic
achievement and financial need. They are so
phomore journalism student Tom Danowski, jun
ior undeclared Perrin Kerns, sophomore
telecommunication major Janet Richards, senior
biology major Craig Baumeister and second-year
law student Mark Block.
Besides the scholarships, the Mothers’ Club
sponors community efforts for the Friends of the
Library and Friends of the Art Museum and don
ated money to refurbish Gerlinger Alumni Lounge
and for women’s athletics.

Second Annual Demonstration Medieval
Tourney Saturday at 10:30 a m on the EMU

fabrication contest, a food sculpture con
test. a Galiard contest, a most creatively

tests. Medieval sword fighting and dancing
also will be demonstrated and a pot luck
